We all have our must have beauty products that we can’t live without.  Here are my top 5 items I use every day. I hope you find these as amazing as I do.

Maybelline New our York Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils

This is the one product I cannot leave the house without putting on.  If I don’t have eyeliner on then I look like I have no lower eyelashes.  And the beauty of it all is that this is not an eyeliner at all.  This is a brow filler.  I melt it a little bit before using it because it is a hard pencil, and then apply it like eyeliner.  The reason I use brow filler as my eyeliner is because it doesn’t run, smear, or disappear throughout the day.  If I am lucky I can even get 2 days out of it.  These 2 pencils last me about a year so they are totally and completely worth the buy.

I LOVE Carmex.  It is my go to for lip moisturizing, and I use it as my lipstick.  I have naturally pale lips, and I tend to go for a more neutral look when applying my make-up so this is the perfect item to put on.  I like it because it is soft enough that I know it actually smooth’s and moisturizes my lips.  It also has SPF15 in it so my lips are protected from the harsh Arizona sun.

Maybelline Mineral Powder

I previously used liquid make-up foundation until I started to break out really bad.  I also felt like I touched my face a lot more when I wore the liquid stuff.  I went to the dermatologist about 8 years ago and she recommended I switch to a mineral powder for my foundation.  After I made the switch I realized it was amazing.  It is easier to determine the amount I need to cover a specific area, such as the dark circles under my eyes after a sleepless night, or a zit that popped out during the night because of my bad food choices from the previous day.  I can even put a little on my finger to use as cover-up and then blend when I put it on with the brush.  The best technique for putting this on is to get a small amount on the brush and swirl the brush in the lid and tap the brush to remove any excess powder.  I work section by section until I have applied the powder everywhere on my face and neck. The finished look is soft and smooth.

St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer

I have been using St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer for probably 20 years now.  I love it because I can apply it to my eyes without it stinging or burning at all.  With other moisturizers you have to be careful not to get them close to the eye area, and then you need to purchase a separate product to put on your eye area.  This moisturizer is also non-greasy and absorbs very quickly. It leaves my face feeling soft and smooth.

Kirkland Organic Coconut Oil

I just started using coconut oil about 3 years ago when my son had a really bad diaper rash.  A friend of mine recommended using coconut oil and I have not stopped using it since.  I put some in a small lotion bottle and have it near my diaper changing area so I can squirt a little on his bum when I change his diaper to prevent a rash and also in the instance he does get one I have it handy.  I use coconut oil for more than just diaper rashes. In fact I have a few lotion bottles filled with coconut oil around the house. I use it in as a lotion, as a hair conditioning treatment, and I use it for cooking too.  I think coconut is useful in so many different areas you just can go wrong with buying it.  I buy the Kirkland Unrefined coconut oil because it is the biggest bang for your buck as this oil is not the cheapest, but a little goes a long way.

  1. I am new to using coconut oil and love how it is so versatile! I never thought of buying it from Costco. Thank you for this great post! Heading to Costco this week!

    1. Yes Costco is the best place to get it. For the amount you get it will last you for quite some time. I am using a jar from over a year ago still. I add a little to my body lotion bottles that I keep on my desk at work and in my purse for added moisturizing since I wash my hands a lot.

    1. Awesome to hear that you also use the same products. I love the moisturizer! In the winter when my skin is extra dry I add a little (like 1-2 drops) coconut oil to it for the added skin softening we need in the dryer months.

  2. I love Maybelline Mineral Powder it’s my go to for everyday wear. And coconut oil works wonders as well, from hair to skin to cooking. Put it on everything. Oh, I add it in smoothies too 🙂
